Synthetic Alternatives to Animal Skins

FAke for the animals sake

Animals don’t have to be fashion victims. Pleather is a hip, stylish fabric that looks and feels just like leather but doesn’t cause animal suffering. Many top designers, fashion models, and celebrities prefer pleather to leather. It’s chic, affordable, and humane. Choose pleather instead of pain! Faux is the way to go. Unlike real fur, which represents the suffering and deaths of millions of animals, fake fur is animal-friendly and fabulous. Warm-hearted designers, such as Oleg Cassini, Stella McCartney, and Marc Bouwer, turn heads and save skins by using only hot, modern faux fabrics. Don’t be a fashion dinosaur—go faux!

Eco note: PETA recommends the use of only non-PVC synthetic leathers, such as PU synthetic leather, which is less destructive, or even nylon, polyester, cotton canvas, or rubber. PVC production, like the production of leather made from animals, is harmful to the environment.
